TVR ~
Urbanhurst¹s mastery of precision engineering with the latest computer-aided production techniques has enabled TVR to achieve what the pundits thought was impossible: that a low volume, specialist could produce its own engine. Not once, but twice (so far !). In the same decade that all other British specialist marques surrendered their 'own' engines in favour of re-engineered versions of engines from their parent company¹s parts bin, TVR declared complete independence, first with the AJP8 V8 and then with the six speed inline six. These remarkable engines have powered TVRs to levels of performance barely matched in supercars three times the price; powered the world¹s fastest one-make championship (the TVR Tuscan Challenge); completed Les 24 Heures du Mans; and finally broken the German/Italian stronghold on international GT2 racing with a decisive 1-2 victory at Spa Francorchamps, Belgium in April 2005 |
